Adults – Amounts to feed will vary depending upon age, breed, environment, temperature, and stress factors. Show dogs and working dogs will require additional amounts of food depending on their degree of activity or stress. Food intake should be adjusted to maintain optimum body weight.
Pregnant/Nursing Females – Reproducing females should be fed free choice. Generally, gestating/lactating females may require 1 1/2 to 2 times the amount of food recommended for adults to maintain desired body condition.
Puppies – Weaning Puppies: Puppies begin to eat solid food at 3 – 4 weeks of age. Add warm water to soften the food. After 8 weeks mix with water or feed dry. Growing Puppies: Feed puppies all the moistened food they will consume at intervals throughout the day, or use the chart as a guide and feed approximately twice as much as suggested. If fed moistened, do not serve more than what the puppy will consume in a 30-minute period to ensure product freshness. If fed dry, food may be kept before the puppies at all times.
